Krillion Food: The Free Food Trivia Pack

Seven food prompts, 25 seconds each, scored by rarity. Everyone can name cheddar. The score comes from the regional cheese, the pasta shape from one town, the spice you have eaten but never named.

What is the Krillion Food pack?

It is the main game with the prompt pool narrowed to food. Seven open prompts, one typed answer each, 25 seconds per prompt, and points by rarity. Food is a strong subject for this format because the everyday vocabulary is so short. Almost everyone shares the same supermarket canon, and almost no one reaches past it under a clock.

The deep end is regional, not exotic. A cheese prompt accepts dozens of real cheeses that are sold in ordinary shops; the rare ones are simply produced in smaller places and named after them. The pack rewards a pantry that has travelled a little.

What you'll be asked

The 7 prompts cover seven reliable shapes:

  • Cheese — the supermarket canon first, the regional names later.
  • Fruit and vegetables — colour prompts, where the first colour word is crowded.
  • Pasta and Italian dishes — shapes and regional recipes, a very long tail.
  • Chocolate — desserts, bars and the dishes chocolate hides inside.
  • Spices — the trade route names, from pepper to grains of paradise.

How a food dive runs

Seven prompts are dealt from the food pool. Each accepts one typed answer and grades it against a hand built list. Matching ignores case, accents and punctuation, and each answer carries aliases for the ways people actually type it: “Parmesan” and “Parmigiano Reggiano”, “Comté” and “Comte”, “courgette” and “zucchini”. A match earns the tier's points; a miss is marked on the results screen.

Prompt repetition is deliberate. A cheese you blanked on once becomes a cheese you can prepare for. The pack is a practice kitchen disguised as a game.

Why the famous food scores least

Everyday food is the most rehearsed vocabulary we have. Cheddar, mozzarella, spaghetti and pepper are learned before school and typed without thinking, which is exactly why they sit at ten points. The game is not asking whether you know them. It is asking whether you can move past them in twenty five seconds.

The deep answer is usually a real, available food that sits behind the famous one: a cheese with a protected name, a pasta shape from a single region, a spice that was once worth a trade route. It is not a stunt answer. It is simply less rehearsed.

One prompt, three shelves

Prompt: “Name a type of cheese”TierPointsDepth
Cheddar — correct, and everyone's first answerPlankton10100 m
Manchego — correct, and a real step sidewaysRare60600 m
Brillat-Savarin — correct, and almost nobody reaches itDeepest1001,000 m

All three are real cheeses. The only difference is how far the name sits from the supermarket aisle.

Going deeper: regions, shapes and the spice route

Three habits produce most of the deep answers. Think in regions rather than brands: most protected foods are named after the place that makes them. Think in shapes and forms: pasta has dozens of legitimate shapes, and the names are rarely translated. And think in trade routes: spices travelled, so the same plant has different names in different kitchens, and the older names are less crowded.

None of this requires professional cooking knowledge. It requires the willingness to spend the second half of the clock looking for a second answer, which is the same skill the main game teaches.

The food pack in the bigger game

Food is one of six themed packs, alongside geography, movies, sports, music and history. The mixed game is the better test of range; the pack is the better test of depth in one subject.

Food pack: frequently asked questions

Is Krillion Food free to play?

Yes. The pack is free and unlimited, with no account and no daily cap. Every dive deals seven food prompts from the bank, using the same six rarity tiers as the main game.

Which kinds of food does the pack cover?

Cheese, fruit, pasta, Italian dishes, vegetables, chocolate and spices. A seven prompt dive usually moves across several of those, so it rewards a broad pantry rather than one cuisine.

Why did cheddar score so little?

Because it is the first cheese most players type. Cheddar is correct and famous, which is exactly what puts it in the Plankton tier. The deep answers are real cheeses with smaller production and longer names.

Do I need to spell foreign food names exactly?

No. Matching ignores case, accents and punctuation, so Comté and Comte are the same answer, and so are Époisses and Epoisses. If a valid spelling still misses, send it in and it will be graded by hand.

Is this the official Krillion food pack?

No. This is an independent, fan made game with its own prompt bank and hand graded answers. It is not affiliated with krillion.io, any chef, restaurant or food brand.
